Important: Read Before Emailing
The Communications and New Media department at NUS offers one Master of Arts by Research program and two PhD programs: one specialising in Communications and New Media and the other in Cultural Studies in Asia.
It is not necessary to secure an advisor before applying to any of these programs.
If you are interested in applying, feel free to proceed.
I cannot make decisions regarding graduate admissions but can only supervise students after they are admitted into either the Master of Arts by Research program and Communications and New Media PhD program, which are competitive.
I’m also unable to provide feedback on any aspect of your application, including your research proposal.
For any general inquiries about these grad programs, please get in touch with our Administrator for Graduate programs, Yuan En at yuanen.wong [at] nus.edu.sg.
Due to the high volume of emails, I simply do not have time to respond individually to all prospective grad students. As a result, I have opted to park the information here for your reference.
If you are interested in working with me and wish to gauge your fit, please take a moment to review the profiles of my current graduate students. I primarily supervise graduate students engaged in qualitative research on gender and sexuality topics.
If your proposed project falls outside of this scope, please explore supervision under a different advisor.
